Hunter Farm Home Stay At 202 Kononi Road
We provide an ideal stop as you travel from Dunedin to Te Anau, Wanaka, or Queenstown;
or if you are a cyclist on the Clutha Gold Cycle Trail we
offer cyclists accommodation in our homestead…
An option for cyclists is uniquely arriving to our property by travelling 20 km down the Clutha River from Beaumont, with Beaumont Jet operators. They will take you on a wonderful scenic journey past Birch Island/Moa Nui Reserve. It is referred to as an ecological “Noahs Ark” in the upper Rongahere, boasting a significant population of invertebrates.Our property is approx 6 km down stream from this island, where we will meet and transport you to our homestead, travelling through fascinating farm land.
The following morning the jet boat can take you back to Beaumont or you can be transported by road taking an interesting trip on the Tuapeka Mouth ferry, to cross the Clutha River and then back to Beaumont through the Rongahere Gorge.
We provide for you an evening meal of organic lamb, home grown vegetables, wine and home baked dessert. Breakfast includes muesli, fruit, yogurt, home baked bread, and/or if required bacon and eggs.
